Federal Expectations, Ethical Requirements, and Legal Requirements when Working with Transgender Youth and Adults

Many questions arise regarding the obligations for school districts, residential, inpatient facilities, and employers when working with transgender individuals. This engaging workshop will present essential transgender friendly terminology, ethical dilemmas, transgender-related legal history, employment and federal requirements, and implementation for your specific setting. Legal Cases involving Discrimination against Transgender Children
This workshop will discuss the legal expectations for transgender children. There have been approximately ten legal cases since 2013 which have relevance for providers, school districts, juvenile detention facilities, residentials, hospitals, and outpatient providers who work with children. Practical applications and ethical obligations for providers will be discussed.
